The Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) at Islamic University of Maldives (IUM) prepares the students for entry into higher education by giving them a solid foundation in areas of their choice. CFS currently offers specifically tailored programs in areas such as Quranic Studies, Sharia’h and Law, Education, Imaamship etc. All the program’s at CFS has a duration of one-year, comprising of two semesters that will prepare the students for a smooth transition to university studies.
Our main objective is to prepare students with comprehensive basic knowledge and skills required for undergraduate studies, with a strong ethical, intellectual and emotional foundation. At the Centre, the students will experience learning in a university learning environment and develop their self-esteem through the activities conducted by the Centre, and the university as a whole.

Assalaamu A’laikum Warahumathullaahi Wabarakaathuhu,
On behalf of Islamic University of Maldives (IUM), it is my pleasure to welcome you to IUM’s Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS).
We are committed to offer highly successful foundation programs for the students who are seeking to further their studies to undergraduate level from variety of different areas such as Sharia’h and Law, Education, Quranic Studies, Imaamship, etc. In addition, our programs are tailored towards developing both intellectual, ethical and emotional aspects of the individual.
Hundreds of students have successfully completed their studies from CFS and had enrolled in their respective fields of undergraduate studies. As well, they have gone to mark their mark in their respective field of services after successful completion of their higher studies.
We have great foundation programs on which to build your future success. Should you join our family, you will meet wise mentors, loyal friends, and a community that will last a lifetime, in sha Allah.
