The Director and Deputy Director of United States Information Support Team (Embassy of United States of America) paid a courtesy visit to the Chancellor of IUM.

The Director (Robert T. Vince) and Deputy Director (Gregory J. Heimall) of United States Information Support Team (Embassy of United States of America) paid a courtesy visit to the Chancellor of IUM. The two delegates were accompanied at the visit by Lieutenant Colonel Hussein Ibrahim (Head of Intelligence and Analysis) and Major Ibrahim Naeem (Head of Intelligence and Analysis Department).
In this visit discussions were held with regard to counter-terrorism and the major efforts by the Islamic University of the Maldives to minimize the extreme thoughts and ideas of terrorism among the students of the University. During the meeting chancellor highlighted that Maldives is a nation which supports moderate Islamic Culture and Civilization and peace by confronting extremism and terrorism. Furthermore, chancellor mentioned that the status of woman is recognized by Islam as full and equal partner of men in the procreation of humankind and Islam teaches that Muslims must treat non-Muslims with respect. Therefore, Maldives being a 100% Muslim Country supports and practices such morals and behaviors which were identified from the Holly Quran and Sunnah of Prophet Mohamed ﷺ.
Furthermore, Chancellor stated that he strongly condemn the falsehood statements regarding terrorism in Maldives in International News Headlines.
